WHY COME TO US?

A Unique Child

Our daily planning ensures that our activities and provision meet the needs and interests of the children. We aim to excite and enthuse our children by providing well-chosen, engaging activities.

Parents as Partners

At Henry Bradley Nursery we understand that leaving your child for the first time is a big event that can be unsettling for both of you. For this reason we aim to make this as easy as possible, including stay-and-play sessions, where parents are invited to stay until their child feels happy in their new environment.

We also pride ourselves on having strong partnerships with parents and carers. We achieve this through our friendly, relaxed atmosphere and our ‘can do’ attitudes. We aim to fulfill the needs of all our children and parents in the following ways: First and foremost, communicating regularly with you, regular photos and posts on our Dojo page, newsletters and parents evenings, allowing parents and key workers to celebrate and share the children’s achievements.

The Enabling Environment

Our nursery is a safe, fun, and inviting environment for children. Outdoors boasts a range of equipment to encourage physical activity, as well as a large sandpit, large messy play area and lots more for the children to enjoy in all weathers. Your child also is able to join in with school events, such as our Jubilee Street Party and our Easter egg hunt. This enables the children to be a part of our school community.

Staff

At Henry Bradley Nursery, staff are professional, well-trained, caring and competent individuals, all of whom are driven to deliver personalised provision that inspires children to learn. We are very fortunate that we  have a qualified teacher and two experienced teaching and learning assistants in our setting.  Our nursery is small enough to make a difference as we are able to concentrate our efforts to ensure every child counts and achieves their full potential.

Transition

Being in the heart of the school and only a short distance away from the Reception classrooms, the transition from Nursery to Hedgehog and Squirrel Class (Reception) is seamless.

We achieve this by: using the school hall at lunchtime and dining with Key Stage 1, sharing the FS2 playground with the  older children, meeting the Reception teachers on a regular basis,  participating in the whole-school themed weeks. By the time September arrives, they’ve done all the scary bits and are more than school ready!

Nursery Provision

We offer flexible options in nursery to meet the needs of all of our parents.

We offer both 15 hour places and 30 hour places.

Parents are able to take the 15 hour place in the traditional format through morning sessions or afternoon sessions or they can take the 15 hour places more flexibly to work round working parents, eg, parents can choose to take up the place using 2 full days and half a session. Eg, Monday all day, Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning.

We also offer the 30 hour places (to those that are eligible)

If you are not sure whether you are entitled to 30 hours, click on the below link to find out.
